There is a lot of talk about STYLE nowadays. especially when it comes to wedding photography. To me STYLE was always what my Grandad had. He always wore a suit, a three piece number, he wasn't particulary affluent, in fact he was positively working class, cobbler by trade, but he had STYLE. I see people at weddings each week with STYLE, you know those people that just have it, that something extra without effort. It could be their shoes, their hair, the way they move, the way they conduct themsleves. Its good to see, it makes me smile. It makes me think of my grandad.

So what has STYLE got to do with wedding photography? Well everything nowadays has to have a label, and it would seem that wedding photographers are no different. It is an extremely overcrowded market, wedding photography and most photographers out there will use cliches such as 'relaxed' 'unobstrusive' and 'natural' , I know because I have done so myself over the years and I know why they use those words. They think that is what their clients want to hear, they think that is what their client wants and they think that is what will get them a booking.

Surely STYLE with wedding photography should come from the images and not the words. Clients do not need cliches and baloney when they can see for themsleves what is 'of' a STYLE or has a certain STYLE. I know myself when I see something whether I think it has STYLE or not. It is usually intangible and without labels, it just IS, you feel it, you see it and you appreciate it and that is the STYLE you like.
